Start-up GUVI’s vernacular TECH courses

The IIT Madras and IIM Ahmedabad-incubated start-up Grab Ur Vernacular Imprint(GUVI) to offer technological courses in vernacular or native languages, has officially become a Google for education partner to enhance the users’ learning experience, especially in tier II and III cities.

The partnership with Google  will enable consultation and counseling to students, early professionals, business owners

Widening the scope for students, early professionals and technological aspirants to learn programming, IT and software skills in the comfort of their mother-tongue.

As part of this partnership, IIT-Madras and IIM-Ahmedabad incubated startup GUVI, plans to offer Google Cloud and Google for Education training and  certification programmes.

More than 12 lakh people have already signed up to GUVI for its advanced pedagogical tools with 100-plus tech-courses that help the learners to gain tech-skills at affordable prices.

Various activity based practice platforms like CodeKata, WebKata, and MicroArc of GUVI provide a comfortable path to its users who wish to obtain professional programming and web development skills.

Felicitation of youth

The Smile Foundation and Change the Game Academy organised graduation day to felicitate youth from across the globe who completed the programme.

The two co-created an innovative blended-learning programme that helps professionals and youngster all over the world learn to raise funds and mobilise other kinds of support.

ACCA Career Fair organised

To support future members and members with employability and career journeys, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) held its virtual career fair on September 29, 2021.

The event used up-to-date technology to enable employers to make real-time connections via chat with a vast array of ACCA’s future-ready finance professionals.

With benefit of reviewing CVs and resumés prior to event, employers had opportunity to shortlist candidates and book on-the-day appointments to talk to them about their organisation and discuss potential roles.

KL Deemed Univ inks MoU with Eduskills foundation

The  KL Deemed to be University has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EduSkills Foundation. The MoU will provide a mechanism to collaborate and nurture Skill Development, IT Education, and Workforce Development Programs. This association aims to provide an edge to students in the larger competitive world.

The MoU was signed by Professor L Koteshwara Rao, Principal Engineering, KL Deemed to be University and Shubhajit Jagadev, CEO, Eduskills Foundation in the Hyderabad Campus. 

The scope of the collaboration includes joint working for expanding digital skills into higher education systems through technical programs in Networking, Cybersecurity, Cloud computing, Automation, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and other Industry 4.0 skills.

Dr G Pardha Saradhi Varma, in-charge VC, KL Deemed to be University said: “The MoU strengthens joint vision of developing a smart workforce. Through this collaboration, we aim to accelerate the inculcation of emerging technologies in education. We looks forward to enhancing students capabilities in various fields.”

Free Course on Art of Question Paper Construction

The TCS iON, unit of Tata Consultancy Services is launching a free certification course for educators titled TCS iON Career Edge-The Art of Question Paper Construction, to celebrate and express gratitude for their inspiring work.

This first-of-its-kind initiative has been taken to help the educator community design high-quality question papers and assessments that truly test students’ learning, especially given the new assessment format announced by the CBSE and ICSE.

The self-paced course will help teachers learn the art and science of drafting impactful questions and question papers in line with the assessment reforms of the National Education Policy 2020.

Successfull placement at JK Lakshmipat University

The JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU) has once again seen successful placements with 43 percent of their students from the BTech batch having been placed in just two weeks. 30% were placed in the first two weeks and 43% were placed within the first month. The students at have been selected in the reputed companies.

 Most of the students in these companies have been placed for core profiles. Despite the pandemic blues and uncertainty regarding the future of the job market, the JKLU students have bagged an average salary package of `6.52 lakh per annum, with the minimum package offered at `4 lakh per annum.

The JKLU’s BTech is a four-year full-time, residential, graduate degree programme.

The University has experiential project-based methodology, designed with the support of Olin College of Engineering, Boston, USA. The programme also provides the opportunity to learn-by-doing, interaction with leading engineers and scientists and time to time industry visits.
