Study abroad | How to make the right choice

Wednesday, 24 February 2021 | Pioneer

Choosing the right university to study abroad can be daunting. Hence, it is necessary to keep key points in mind

Even if you are keen about your choice of university, it is advisable that you apply to at least three universities as an option. There have been incidents when students have decided to go ahead with their second choice, and found that it was a wonderful stroke of luck.

When it comes to applying to a university abroad, students primarily do it through the university website. However, it is time consuming. With the advent of AI driven study abroad platforms like Edvoy, the application process has been simplified. Such platforms allow students to apply for five universities with one click. They just need to upload their documents, and they can track their application status. All this is done with complete transparency.

Leaving paperwork to the last minute equals major headaches. There is a list of important documents that are required while applying for a university. This list may vary, depending from university to university and country to country.

However, in general, universities will require documents such as mark sheets of 10th to graduation, an updated resume, at least 3 letters of recommendation, Statement of Purpose, and experience letters if interned or worked.  You must also have completed English proficiency tests like IELTS, TOEFL etc. and aptitude tests like GMAT, GRE, depending on university's preference.

Students can apply for scholarship options provided by the government as well as the university to support their education.  Applying for scholarships can be confusing. Students can seek guidance from advisors on digital study abroad platforms such as Edvoy, who can help them through the process as they have direct partnerships with universities abroad.
