The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mitsui Kinzoku Components India Private Limited (MKCI) and the School of Advanced Sciences, VIT-AP University was held virtually on July 20, 2021.
Dr SV Kota Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, VIT-AP University, said that this collaboration will help faculty and students to get an opportunity to conduct advanced level collaborative research in Sciences and Technologies and they can get enough scope to involve themselves in different career development activities. Moreover, this collaboration may bring excellent research projects and industrial consultancy. Many events like training and faculty development programmes, workshops, conferences may be organised together. Industry professionals can share their knowledge with the students during guest lectures. They can share their expertise to develop the courses and to prepare the curriculum industry-ready.
Shimada Masakazu, Managing Director, MKCI emphasized that this collaboration will bring industry and academia together. Industry professionals, scientists, professors, students can perform joint research ventures under this agreement. Many patents can be published and granted jointly. Dr Sekar Viswanathan, Vice President, VIT, Dr CLV Sivakumar, Registrar, Dr Pradeep Reddy CH, Deputy Director, Career Development Centre and Dr Rajesh Kodiyath, Assistant General Manager, R&D, MKCI along with many others witnessed the ceremony.
