IMPOSITION OF FINE ON Metro PASSENGERS sans MASKS
Kolkata: Metro Authorities have been running awareness campaigns ‘No Mask, No Metro’ for educating the commuters about the importance of wearing masks in order to battle Corona Virus and to stop the spread of the deadly disease. Regular announcements are being made and RPF and other Metro staff have also been interacting with passengers in stations and trains over the past few weeks. In accordance with the provisions laid down in the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and under instructions from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), guidelines have been issued for containment of COVID-19 in the country.
48,000 property taxpayers avail Amnesty plan
North DMC extended relief of about 500 crore rupees to the those who availed the benefit of Amnesty Scheme. Mayor of North Delhi Mr Jai Prakash today said that North DMC has collected almost 645 crore rupees which is almost 100 crore more than the last year’s figure of Rs 548 crore. The number of taxpayers has also been increased by 5000 as 4,23,000 taxpayers paid tax in comparison to 4,18,000 taxpayers last year.
New Defined Contribution based Pension Scheme
The New Defined Contribution based Pension Scheme was introduced vide Department of Economic Affairs Notification No. 5/7/2003-ECB & PR dated 22nd December, 2003. Thereafter the activities under the National Pension System viz. registration, contribution, investment, fund management, withdrawals, annuity, etc. are regulated by the PFRDA Act, 2013. However, there were several service matters pertaining the NPS employees which were not covered by the PFRDA Act. In order to streamline the implementation of NPS, DoPPW initiated the proposal for framing of separate service rules for NPS employees.
PFC pays interim dividend of Rs 1,182.63 cr to Govt of India for the financial year 2020-21
New Delhi: Power Finance Corporation, a Schedule - A Navratna CPSE and India’s leading NBFC for the Power Sector, has paid an interim dividend of Rs 1,182.63 crore to Government of India for the financial year 2020-21 on March 31st, 2021 on 1,47,82,91,778 number of equity shares (56%) held by the government. The interim dividend RTGS intimation bank advice was presented to RK Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) Power and New & Renewable Energy & Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship by Shri Ravinder Singh Dhillon, CMD, PFC in the presence of Shri Alok Kumar, Secretary (Power), Shri Ashish Upadhyaya, Additional Secretary (Power) & FA, Government of India, PK Singh, Director (Commercial) PFC and Smt. Parminder Chopra, Director (Finance) PFC.
Food fortification to fight hidden hunger
Mumbai: A worldwide shift to combat hidden hunger needs to be launched by processing food in a way that micronutrient shortages are adequately addressed, opined experts in a webinar. “Food fortification is seen as a viable, scientifically proven, WHO approved & cost-effective strategy to address the problem of malnutrition,” said Vivek Chandra, CEO, LT Foods & Co-Chair, National Food Processing council, ASSOCHAM. While, Vikram Kelkar, Group Managing Director, Hexagon Nutrition, said, “The inclusion of exercise, healthy diet, use of over-the-counter medications, and dietary supplements is becoming a way of life.”
More than 50% of Delhi worries about insomnia
New Delhi: Over 50 per cent of Delhiites reported being anxious about suffering from insomnia, according to the findings of Great Indian Sleep Scorecard 2021. “This year, while all of India has been working from home and adapting to a very different lifestyle altogether, we noticed a rather sizable increase in the number of Delhiites working night shifts, recording increases in screen time, sleeping late at night due to work, and also having the fear of insomnia,” said Chaitanya Ramalingegowda, co-founder and director, Wakefit.co, which conducted the study.
