ES Ranganathan, Director (Marketing), GAIL receives Communication Leader Award
New Delhi: E S Ranganathan, Director (Marketing), GAIL received the ‘Communication Leader Award’ at the “Governance Now 8th PSU Awards” for driving various innovative communication programmes for GAIL through digital and other mediums for external and internal stakeholders. The award is a testimony for GAIL’s efforts under his leadership in developing effective communication for creating positive business environment among the stakeholders and also to keep the morale of the employees high during the tough pandemic times. Shri Ranganathan was also instrumental in driving various business related communication for Natural Gas advocacy and promoting clean energy & clean environment through GAIL’s Hawa Badlo initiative.
Felicitation of Indian Weightlifting Coach of Tokyo 2020 Olympics
General Manager, Northern Railway, Ashutosh Gangal felicitated Sh. Vijay Sharma, the coach of Indian Weightlifting team, on 28.07.2021 on his return from Tokyo in Northern Railway Headquarters at Baroda House, New Delhi. Sh.Vijay Sharma, who is currently Chief Office Superintendent in Operating Department of Northern Railway Headquarters guided Ms. Mirabai Chanu to win Silver Medal in 49 Kg Weight Category in Tokyo 2020 Olympics. With this splendid performance Sh. Vijay Sharma has become eligible for promotion to OSD. Apart from above, Sh. Vijay Sharma was the coach of Indian team in Rio 2016 Olympics also. In the World Championship of 2017 held in the USA, it was under mentorship of Sh. Vijay Sharma that Ms. Mirabai Chanu won a Gold Medal which was the first ever Gold Medal won by Indian. He has been the coach of India Weightlifting team in Asian and Commonwealth championships since 2014 wherein Indian team has given several medal winning performances.
Ratanlal Katariahas demands Majestic Warehousing in Ambala Parlia constituency area
In his address during the session,Mr Ratanlal Kataria brought to the notice to the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution that the market has been integrated with the (GST) Goods and Services Tax. Majestic Warehousing has full potential to be set up in Ambala. Ambala is connected with high quality facilities of rail and road transport. An international airport is also established at Mohali near Ambala. In view of these favorable infrastructure conditions, Ambala has strong potential for large planned investments like Dedicated Freight Corridor. As a result the demand for warehousing in Ambala will increase and investment in infrastructure will also reduce the pressure on Delhi and NCR.
COMMENCEMENT OF TRIAL RUN UP TO SEALDAH OF EAST-WEST METRO
Kolkata: Metro Railway plans to extend East-West Metro services up to Sealdah by partially operating Sealdah station (East Bound line only). This section will add another 2.33 Kms and one station (Sealdah) in 6.97 Kms already being operated in East- West Metro corridor from Salt Lake Sector-V to Phoolbagan. Integrated trial of systems is pre-requisite for getting mandatory clearance from Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) to start the revenue services in Metro corridor. This trial has commenced from 31.07.2021 and the complete trial and review by ISA will take approximately 03 months time. Shri Manoj Joshi, General Manager, Metro Railway, Shri Manas Sarkar, Managing Director, senior officers of Metro Railway and Directors of Kolkata Metro Railway Corporation Ltd (KMRCL) witnessed the commencement of the trial. Like earlier sections, this trial will check all systems before starting the revenue service. Once the trial is concluded and certification from ISA received, Metro Railway will take further action for commencement of services up to Sealdah.
