All women-driven e-rickshaws for tourists at Statue of Unity

Sunday, 26 September 2021 | PNS | Ahemdabad

In a boost to women empowerment, the Gujarat Government has allowed the deployment of all women-driven electric three-wheelers in Kevadia for easy mobility of the tourists visiting the Statue of Unity. The move in this regard has been taken after the Prime Minister had on World Environment Day declared Kevadia as the first true electric vehicle (EV) zone in the country. The PM is scheduled to inaugurate the electronic rickshaws of ETO Motors on October 31. Around 100 local young unemployed women have been trained to drive the e-rickshaws.
