Amit Khare appointed PM’s adviser

Amit Khare, a 1985 batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre who retired as higher education secretary on September 30, has been appointed as adviser to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for two years on contract basis, a personnel ministry order issued on Tuesday said.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Khare as adviser to the Prime Minister in Prime Minister’s Office, in the rank and scale of secretary to the Government of India, on contract basis, initially for a period of two years, it said. He joins the Prime Minister’s Office after ex-cabinet secretary PK Sinha and ex-secretary Amarjeet Sinha left the PMO as advisers this year.
