The OTT platform, Netflix dropped Part II of Season 5 on May 28, 2021 — from episode nine to 16. Fans would remember that Season 5 part I ended on episode eight with a promise that there would be eight more episodes in this season. Fans would also remember that Lucifer aka Lucy was all set to say the magical three words before God descended on Earth. Yes, miracles do happen!

Given that Lucy has Dad issues, this season was bound to be filled with clashes and in trying to address these and we are not disappointed. Episode nine Season 5 opens with Dad stepping in before the three brothers on Earth — Amenadiel, Samael and Michael — end up fighting and killing each other. If one wanted to kill all perceptions related to angels, demons, the Devil and God, this is the right series to follow. God and his family couldn’t be a more dysfunctional family in the entire universe.

This means there is plenty of fun, drama and emotions running high not to mention song and dance at the drop of the hat. The reason. God is on Earth and he can’t control his powers on this planet. Fun times begin!

In the midst of all this, is Lucifer and detective Chloe trying to solve crime and murder. With God wanting to make amends with how he treated Samael (Lucifer), he tags along, opening doors to plenty of fun moments that bring a smile. One definitely doesn’t want to get caught without clothes by your Dad. But then he is God and he knows and sees everything.

While some of the moments may border on being downright ridiculous, Lucy does manage to find a way in which it finds a connection with our lives — two brothers fighting, one son with Dad issues and the elder brother trying to pacify everyone. Throw in a family dinner and things are bound to get only interesting from here on given that God cooks and the taste is heavenly. How can it be anything else? He is heaven.

But the best part is that Season 5 is that it ends on a somewhat positive and romantic note. Does Lucy say those three magic words? Watch it to find out.
