‘Hosting a crime show was like a DREAM COME TRUE’
The Q, India’s Hindi general entertainment channel launches its first original
crime fiction show ‘Jurm Ka Chehra’ for television. The show will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9PM exclusively on The Q. Hosted by actor Kinshuk Vaidya, the show is based on modern age crime stories plaguing our society. Crime has increased and changed its face with the changing times. It’s not just murders and robbery that can scare the daylight out of people but also other unethical and rampant crimes like cybercrimes, online frauds amongst others. With an aim to create awareness, the show will bring to its viewers ‘Naye Zamane Ki Nayi Crime Stories,’ inspired by modern crimes.
Actor Kinshuk Vaidya who rose to fame with his massive popularity as a child actor in the early 2000’s on being the host of the show shared, “I have grown up watching crime thrillers and investigative shows. So, hosting one was like a dream come true and quite exhilarating. However, with changing times, the nature and face of crime and criminals has changed and hence what sets this show apart is that it will give the viewers insight into the modern age crimes. Honestly, shooting for it has also made me more aware as a person and also as a consumer of various products, services and technologies. I really hope the audiences watch our show and benefit from it as well”.
Speaking on the launch of its first crime thriller, Krishna Menon, Chief Operating Officer, The Q added “With Jurm Ka Chehra we foray into the crime genre. The cast of the show has been chosen from virtual auditions and we have handpicked talented social media creators to feature as actors in it. This is our attempt of not just using the content of creators for our audience but also offering specially curated content with the creators for our audiences. Thus, truly living up to our brand philosophy of exploring, Zara Hatke initiatives.”
Karan Suchak to play a lead
COLORS’ recently launched a show, Thoda Sa Baadal, Thoda Sa Paani, which highlights the journey of a strong, independent woman through the protagonist Kajol (played by Ishita Dutta). While there has been much excitement about her character, the show will now introduce the lead character named, Anurag Basu.
Anurag will be played by heartthrob Karan Suchak, who shows strong potential in bringing the character to life. Anurag by profession is a cardiologist, but when it comes to matters of his heart, his relationship with his mother has strained his outlook towards women. While the character is yet to be unveiled on the show, Karan is quite confident that Anurag Basu will be loved by everyone.

He mentions, “It feels great to be on the sets, it’s been more than 500 days since I’ve been on a full-blown set due to the pandemic. Although there were offers coming in, what mattered the most to me was placing myself at the right place and associating with the right work, and what could be better than working with a leading TV channel Colors on their new show. I'm excited to portray Anurag Basu's character in Thoda Sa Baadal Thoda Sa Paani. Looking forward to giving my 100% and am thrilled to reconnect with the audience.”

Even as the pandemic continues to cast its shadow of stress, Zee TV is attempting to lighten up the country's collective mood by offering its viewers an escape from all the stress via the route of rib-tickling comedy through its reality show, Zee Comedy Show. The show has been successful in helping every Indian family unwind on their couch with some of India's top comedians making them LOL their stress away. The acts put up by all the comedians coupled with the witty reactions of our laughing buddha Farah Khan continue to leave everyone in splits. However, in an unfortunate turn of events, even after being double vaccinated and taking absolute precautions, Khan has tested positive for COVID-19. While the filmmaker is self-isolating and recuperating at home, Mika Singh has stepped in for Khan on Zee Comedy Show. He will be seen stepping in for her for two weeks starting from next weekend, which is the 11th of September.
The singer shot for two episodes with Raveena Tandon and Mallika Sherawat as well this week, but he was missing Khan beside him during the shoot. As Singh revealed, “It is unfortunate that Farah tested positive despite being double vaccinated and it clearly proves that you cannot predict anything in the current scenario. I have spoken to her, and it is great to know that she is doing fine, and I really hope she gets well soon. Last time around, I shot for Zee Comedy Show as a special guest, and I really had a gala time with Farah, so I do miss her beside me. But as you know, the show must go on and with an aim to spread cheer and joy amongst the audience in this gloomy time, we have shot for two episodes of Zee Comedy Show with Raveena Tandon and Mallika. I hope everyone enjoys my presence on the show for two weeks.”
