In his latest jibe at former chief minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, UP government spokesman and Cabinet minister Sidharth Nath Singh said that Yadav was in home quarantine when he was the CM and continued to be so even today when he is in the opposition.
Singh said that that the SP leader’s inability to see the work being carried out on a war-footing by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the fight against coronavirus does not change the reality that the number of L-2 and L-3 grade beds have been trebled across the state in the recent past while 35,000 new beds were also being added.
“Besides, medical kits have been distributed to 2.41 lakh patients in home isolation in the state, but the SP and his chief sitting in the opposition will not see this. Instead of supporting the government in this war against pandemic, Akhilesh Yadav is indulging in petty politics,” the government spokesman remarked.
Singh said that Akhilesh Yadav has always been far from the ground reality and therefore was unable to see the efforts being put on the ground by the Yogi government to overcome the battle against the deadly virus.
“Unlike Yadav’s government when state planes were provided to rioters, in thee Yogi government, state aircrafts are being used to bring life-saving medicines. Actually, Akhilesh Yadav can’t accept the work being done by the Yogi government for the larger good of people. The government has been releasing data honestly on a daily basis on infection and recovery rates in the state. But, to see all this, the SP leader will have to venture out of the four walls of his house and remove his tinted glasses,” he said.
“All works done by the Yogi government in the larger interest of people - whether it is providing medical kits for Covid patients in home quarantine or benefiting wheat and sugarcane farmers - anger Akhilesh Yadav. As CM, the SP leader never did anything for the welfare of farmers whereas the Yogi government is constantly working on an array of schemes to provide maximum benefits to the farmers. Whether it was the issue of making payments to the sugarcane farmers or purchasing wheat from farmers, the Yogi government took appropriate decisions and steps well in time. Besides, the BJP government has made payments to 1.23 lakh cane farmers while wheat procurement has been doubled since last year to about 1.2 metric tons. But, again, Yadav can’t see them with his glasses on,” Singh quipped.
