Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday said that cooperatives are an integral part of the rural economy and they are a powerful medium to bring about changes in the lives of farmers and villagers.
The state government has laid emphasis on strengthening the cooperatives, he said.
Baghel was virtually addressing the taking charge ceremony of the Chairman of District Co-operative Central Bank Ltd (Maryadit) in Raipur, an official statement said.
Baghel also launched the bank's ATM service.
The Chief Minister said that continuous steps were being taken to remove the complexities of the cooperative sector. The intention is to facilitate cooperatives to reach out maximum people with benefits in rural areas.
