Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Commissioner Rajeshwari B reviewed the implementation of MNREGA scheme and RURBAN mission schemes through video conferencing with all Deputy Development Commissioners (DDC) on Wednesday. She directed to expedite the work to provide employment among rural masses of the State.
In the meeting, the works being done under the MGNREGA scheme were reviewed in detail by the MGNREGA commissioner, district wise. In the course of review, the DDC of the districts making relatively less progress were directed by the MGNREGA Commissioner to expedite the work. The MGNREGA Commissioner, clearly stated that the purpose of MGNREGA work is to provide employment to the villagers.
She said that there should be no migration from the village, ensure it and if it is not done, action will be taken by fixing the accountability. MGNREGA commissioner directed to complete all pending schemes within one week.
In the course of review, Rajeshwari directed the Block Development Officers (BDO) to ensure timely payment of wages to the workers working under MGNREGA and directed to provide employment to maximum workers for one hundred days.
During the meeting, many other directions were given regarding employment generation in the village from MNREGA. All the BDO’s were directed by MGNREGA Commissioner Rajeshwari that there should be no negligence in MGNREGA work. She gave many other directions including inspecting the site of the schemes being made under MGNREGA. Rejected transaction, directed through PFMS to improve the rejected account of MGNREGA workers without delay, geo-tagging of hundred per cent scheme and generating man-days by operating the scheme in the village as per the target. In the meeting, all the BDO were instructed to ensure 50 per cent participation of women in MGNREGA.
