As part of its initiative to save lives of critical Covid patients, the State Government has sent a proposal to the Centre for installation of PSA oxygen plants at medical college hospitals and District Headquarters Hospitals in the State.
In a letter to Director of Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Ravi Kumar Arora, State Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra has written that the State Government will make provision and construct the medical gas pipeline system (MGPS) in those institutions where an oxygen plant is not currently available. On Saturday, Union Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had urged Union Health Ministry seeking Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan’s personal intervention in allocation of 19 more PSA oxygen plants in 15 districts in addition to 21 oxygen plants being set up in Odisha.
