‘Police Commemoration Day’ denotes valour: Uike

Friday, 22 October 2021 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

Chhattisgarh Governor Anusuiya Uike on Thursday praised the police for serving the country and said "we are safe in our homes today only because police personnel are deployed day and night" and work with dedication.

She was addressing a Police Commemoration Day programme conducted by the Chhattisgarh Armed Force’s fourth battalion at Mana here.

The Governor said the Day reminds one about the valour of policemen who sacrifice everything for the motherland.

Some police personnel got infected with Covid-19 and some even died while on duty, she added.

The Governor also praised the policemen for fighting the Naxalites with courage. She hoped the state will be free from the Naxalite menace soon.

It must be the responsibility of the state government to respect the sacrifices of the police personnel who died on duty by taking care of their families, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel added.
