Sunday, 30 May 2021 | PNS | KONARK

To encourage people to adopt Covid-appropriate behaviour so as to contain the spread of coronavirus, the Radio Namaskar launched an awareness campaign “Radio on Wheel” through mobile van to reach the masses here.

Under the campaign, the mobile van will travel to more than 1,000 villages in Puri district to spread awareness among people. The key messages will be delivered through audio programmes prepared by the Radio Namaskar. The van will also display the messages through posters attached in it. The campaign will ensure narrowcasting at more than 2,000 spots with listeners groups and WSHGs of the locality.

“Community Radio is an effective medium and functioning in grassroot levels to reach the people who have limited source of information and knowledge”, said Minister, E and IT, Sports and Youth Services Er Tusharkanti Behera who joined as chief guest in the inaugural event. Community media specialist and chairperson of Radio Namaskar NA Shah Ansari informed that the mobile van will travel 80-100 km every day to create awareness on Covid.

The campaign is supported by Motorola Solutions Foundation, ActionAid Association and Young India. Over 100 journalists, development professionals, community radio practitioners and Government officials participated.
