The inaugural session for the five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ‘Strategic Performance Management’ in collaboration with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under its AICTE Training & Learning (ATAL) Academy, New Delhi organized by Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi and its Human Resource Management (HRM) Programme began on Tuesday. The programme is being organized on virtual mode, due to COVID-19 restrictions.
In his keynote address, Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur, Director, XISS expressed his gratitude to AICE-ATAL for helping faculty members from all over the country in improving their efficiency and delivery.
“AICTE has been successful in bringing structural changes to technical education by fostering research and innovation and so far almost 30,000 resource persons have benefited through these FDPs organized by ATAL,†he highlighted.
He stressed on the importance of effective leadership and Strategic Performance Management against the backdrop of the pandemic and the economic challenges that arose with it. “In situations like these it is highly desirable for a business to create and develop competitive advantage. The goal of the FDP is to sync theory to practical application, solve the quality crisis in business, ensure accountability, and promote long term growth through strategic performance management,†concluded Dr Kujur.
As explained by the coordinator Prof Dr. Shyamal Gomes, this FDP is centered on developing strategic and analytic skills on performance management among the teaching fraternity and providing practicing managers the necessary and adaptable work environment skills as well as an understanding of financial decision making towards overall organizational sustainability.
