‘Talent selection’ programme to start in State from August

To give platform to talented players, a talent selection programme will be carried out in the State.

It will start from August 1, 2021 to select the hidden sports talents at the remote rural areas, towns and district level and to provide them an opportunity to showcase their talents at national and international level.

A video confrencing was organised on Thursday by Department of School Education and Tribal Welfare by the Sports Department, regarding the Talent Search, (Talent Selection Program) to be held at the district, division and state level.

In the video conferencing, the Superintendents of Police, District Sports Officers, School Education and Tribal Welfare Department officials of all the districts of the state, Director Sports and Youth Welfare Pawan Jain, Commissioner School Education Jayshree Kiyawat, Deputy Commissioner Tribal Caste Rita Singh and Deputy Directions were given by Director School Education  Alok Khare.

On this occasion, Joint Director Sports Vinod Pradhan and B.S. Yadav and other officials were present.

In video conferencing, Sports Director  Pawan Jain discussed in detail with the District Superintendents of Police, District Sports Officers and officials of the School Education and Tribal Welfare Department regarding the sports activities of the districts and said that a convenient place for talent search (ground) should be selected.

In the first phase, physical test (physical test) of players will be done at district level and skill test (skill test) will be done at division level. He said that necessary materials, funds would be made available to the districts for talent search.

Giving information about the sports infrastructure available in the districts of Shivpuri, Sagar, Satna, Ujjain, Dhar, Hoshangabad, Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Vidisha, Panna etc.

Jain said that other districts of the state would be developed as Excellence Centers. So that the selected sports talents can get the benefit of it.

Tribal Department Deputy Commissioner Rita Singh told the departmental officers that there are many talents in remote areas and to bring these sports talents to the fore, all the officers should work with team spirit and make the talent search program of the Sports Department fruitful.
