‘War against Covid cannot be fought without public support’

Thursday, 08 April 2021 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that he is overwhelmed with the public support met to the “Swasthya Agraha” campaign launched for public awakening against corona infection. This war cannot be fought without the cooperation of the society.

The state government is making all possible arrangements, but the cooperation of the society is necessary. Swasthya Agraha campaign got support and backing of all political, social, religious organisations, resident associations, trade associations, employee organisations etc. So far, more than 34,000 people have registered themselves under the Corona Volunteer Scheme launched to motivate the people to participate in the campaign against Corona. With the cooperation of the people of the state, it is clear that the government and society are together. Corona will lose and humanity will win.

Chouhan said that lockdown is the last resort to control corona infection. Alongwith the country and the world Corona infection is spreading rapidly in Madhya Pradesh also. The state government is monitoring the situation; every possible measure to control it is being taken. Disaster management committees of the districts are alert keeping in view the local conditions. If the need arises, imposition or enhancement of lockdown as the last option to control the situation could be considered.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given the mantra of four T- testing, tracing, treatment and teekakaran (vaccination) in the war against Corona. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that there is a need to include one more T. That is Tendency, which means we have to adopt Covid-friendly behaviour. It is essential that all individuals make it a habit to wear mask, maintain social distancing and frequent hand washing. It is necessary to adopt these precautions continuously. A feeling has to be developed that if we are not adopting these precautions, then we are committing a sin or a crime. The expression “my protection my armour” should be in all people.

Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has to be freed from the fear and outbreak of Corona, MP means “Mask Pahno” (wear a mask). We will be able to get rid of this fear and outbreak of Corona only by wearing a mask. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was interacting with media representatives on the concluding of the Swasthya Agraha started from April 6 near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Minto Hall.
