Septuagenarian Kamala Nayak,76, a resident of Koro under the Nikirai police station in the district died on Tuesday following a wall collapse due to incessant rains while she was going to have lunch. With this, the death toll because of wall collapse in the district went up to three though the administration was yet to confirm the latest casualty.
As many as 7, 79,241 people of 811 villages in 126 GPs in five blocks and 22 wards in two urban local bodies were affected by the rains.
Ten roads including Kundupur-Babar-Jamboo Road, Marshaghai-Jamboo, Cuttack-Chandabali, Kendrapada-Golarhaat, Katikata-Jaipur, Paika left embankment, Prabhakarpur-Kharanashi, Orta-Badhi, Aitipur Charichowk to Gopinathpur, Haladiagada-Patkura roads were cut off.
