A 13-year-old Surat based girl was sexually assaulted near Vivekanand Bal Udayan area under Kamla Nagar police station area; a case was registered on Wednesday.
According to the police the minor victim was sexually assaulted by the accused who is her distant relative and came to attend a marriage in the month of August.
The victim was lured by the accused and later held her captive at his house where she was sexually assaulted.
In her complaint the victim stated that she came to attend marriage at her grandparents’ house and where she was raped her threatening her of life while other members of family were asleep.
The victim kept mum and when she returned home in Surat she reported the incident to her family. A complaint was lodged with the police in Surat and a case of zero FIR was registered and later case was transferred to Kamla Nagar.
The details of the accused would be searched as the victim was not able to provide the details which could help in nabbing the accused.
The accused sexually assaulted the victim and threatened her of life which was reported by the victim to the police. After the victim lodged a complaint accused went absconding and is still at large.
The police have registered a case under sections 376, 376(2) of the IPC and section 3 and 4 Protection of Children from Sexual Offences and have started further investigation.
