The presence of 165 different types of rare birds and 5 tigers in the Nauradehi Sanctuary, spread over three districts of the state, charms the tourists visiting here.
Wildlife in the Sanctuary is minus spread over an area of Nauradehi 119704 Sq. Km up to Sagar, Damoh and Narsinghpur districts. The entire sanctuary is situated on a plateau. In Damoh district it is towards Durgavati Sanctuary up to Bandhavgarh National Park in the east.
This sanctuary is adjacent to Jabalpur Sagar Highway. It has 8 ranges. A large number of tourists come from far and wide to see countless wild animals in these ranges. Nauradehi has proved to be a corridor for Panna Tiger Reserve and is indirectly connected to Satpura Tiger Reserve. Due to its connectivity with Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve and Rani Durgavati Wildlife Sanctuary, it has become a home of birds. Overall, the Nauradehi Sanctuary is turning out to be an ideal habitat for birds.
The heritage of nature in the sanctuary is captivating to everyone. In this, Garhi pahar, pokhar, Jamrasi talab, Chevela talab, Badhpani, Ampani, dense forest, vegetation and homes of birds delight the tourists a lot.
After completing the survey work, about 30 bird experts from different states not only found 165 rare birds but also recorded their pictures and voices. Birds like dusky eagle, owl, white-bellied minivet, Himalayan vulture, Eurasian fly catcher, white-throated kingfisher and the presence of wild boar, spotted deer attract tourists.
Nauradehi Sanctuary can be reached by covering a distance of 95 km from Jabalpur, 70 from Sagar, 70 from Damoh and 110 km from Narsinghpur. It is 95 kms from Sagar station and 160 kms from Jabalpur by rail route.
