18-yr-old crushed by crane trying to clear way for it

An 18-year old crane helper was mowed down by crane he was working with at Navibagh under Nishatpura police station area in the evening on Wednesday.

The deceased identified as Aniket Batham was hit by a crane while he was trying to pave wave for crane while crossing road. The locals rushed the injured to hospital where he was declared dead.

The incident took place while crane was trying to cross road and failed to move himself from the way in time and was mowed down by crane. The deceased sustained multiple injuries which caused his dead. After the preliminary investigation the bodies were sent for the post mortem.

The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC. The deceased was a resident of Karond. The police have recorded statements of workers and if it would be found that death was caused due to negligence action would be taken against responsible person.

Meanwhile, a 23-year-old youth died after his bike was hit by a speeding vehicle near Mubarakpur under Parwalia police station area on Thursday. Police said that a injured man was rushed to a hospital where he died during treatment and was identified as Annu Batke.

After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC and started further investigation. Police have not found any details of the vehicle which the hit as no one have spotted the errant vehicle. Nearby CCTV cameras would be investigated.
