2 held for de-addiction centre inmate death

Police have arrested two persons on Sunday in connection with mysterious death of an inmate of a de-addiction centre at Chandagada village here a week ago.

 The arrestees were identified as Raj Kishor Das of Bagalpur village under Biridi block and Umakanta Swain, a resident of Godida village under Balikuda area. Moreover, the police have seized a bike, two plastic pipes and two napkins allegedly used to commit the crime, police said.

Reports said that one Sk Shera Ali of Gandito village under Chatra Municipality area here had lodged an FIR in Jagatsinghpur police station alleging his son Sk Jabar (22) who was residing in Chesta de-addiction centre at Chandagada for treatment was found dead in the centre's premises on May 2 under mysterious circumstances. Ali had alleged that de- addiction centre trainer Raj Kishor Das and its manager had killed his son by exercising extra doses of physical treatment.

The police had registered a murder case and launched a drive to trace the centre's trainer and other staffer who had absconded soon after the crime. Later police reached the duo by tracking their mobile phones. The district police's technical and cyber cell team was associated with the probe for which the accused could be picked up soon, informed SDPO, Jagatsinghpur.
