Khajuri Sadak police have nabbed two miscreants at Mughalia Chhap area and recovered illegally transported 60 litres of country-made liquor worth Rs 25,000 and motorbike used to transport liquor illegally on Tuesday.
According to the police, acting of a tip-off, a youth was detained near Mughalia Chhap trisection and when he was checked, 300 bottles of county-made liquor were recovered from their possession. The accused was identified as Lakhan Mali of Mughalia Chhap.
Police said that the accused was carrying liquor and failed to produce license regarding the liquor and was nabbed. A gunny sacks were seized from the accused. The source from which the accused have obtained the liquor and where it was scheduled to be delivered would be investigated.
The accused tried to escape after spotting police but was nabbed.
A case under section 34 (2) of the Excise Act was registered and further investigation has been started.
The accused were carrying liquor over a bike bearing registration number MP42MM5417 which was seized and details of which would be investigated as miscreants use stolen vehicles for committing crime and it would be checked whether the vehicle was stolen for illegal transportation of liquor .
Crime record of the nabbed accused would be investigated in the further investigation. The crime record details of the accused would be checked with the respective police station.
