3-day FJCCI election begins today

Sunday, 26 September 2021 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand’s biggest trade body; Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) is all set for a three days long election process starting from Sunday where 3480 members will elect 21 candidates out of 35 in the fray.

Elected 21 candidates who form the executive panel, will thereafter choose seven office bearers from themselves who would run the Chamber for next one year. The election will be held on September 26, 27 and 28.

The office bearers consist of the president, two vice presidents, one general secretary, two joint secretaries and a treasurer.

They will choose the successor of Praveen Jain Chhabra who is the present president of the Chamber.

Last year the election could not take place due to Covid 19 pandemic and a group of office bearers, nominated by the trading community, is at the helm of affairs at present.

Hectic backroom management was going on by the stakeholders namely Dheeraj Taneja, Dr Abhishek Ramadin, Kishore Mantri and others who are mobilising support.

Election of the chamber could not be held last year because of the pandemic and a group of office bearers, nominated by the trading community, is at the helm of affairs at present.

On the first of the polling as many as 1000 member voters have been invited to cast their votes.

The Chamber will ensure that election is conducted under strict protocol of Covid-19. District administration too has been informed to ensure traffic on the Mahatma Gandhi road where the chamber building is situated which is also the venue of polling.
