3-member committee to probe fire incident in railway godown

The Dhanbad Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) has constituted a  three member committee to probe the fire incident in cable godown. Cables worth crores  were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out on Thursday noon and could be doused  only after twelve hours of fire fighting by fire department personnel.

The probe committee includes Sumant Lal deputy chief signal and telecommunications, Hemant Kumar senior commandant of RPF and senior Divisional stores office S Rai.

These have been directed to probe the fire from all.possible angles, said divisional.PRO PK Mishra in a press note issued following the incident. According to reports out of 447Cable boxes around 400 have been gutted in fire. The stock of the entire division. was stocked here at Dhanbad headquarters.

It's worth mentioning that the fire broke out around noon and was first spotted by DSP GRP Sajid Khan, who has his official residence next to the store.

He called the fire fighters but by the time they reached the spot the fire aggravated.

Keeping in view the rising fire the police and GRP asked families residing next to the godown to vacate the house including that of the Rail SP and DSP.

The firefighters when fell short of water from their resources took water from Pampu Talab of railways for fighting the fire. The probe team has been asked to submit a report within a week's time.
