The Bhopal Crime Branch has busted a four-member vehicle lifter gang from Sindhi Colony and recovered 16 two-wheelers worth `3.85 lakh from their possession, gang had stolen vehicles from seven cities. Acting on a tip off a vehicle lifter was nabbed near Sindhi Colony who was identified as Danish alias Azaharuddin (25) of Kotwali and was trying to sell a bike. The accused failed to provide details of the bike and confessed that the bike was stolen. Later in the investigation, Danish confessed stealing vehicles along with his three aides Sunil Sharma (24), Bablu alias Rakesh Kahar (49) and Saurabh Thakur (22).
During the investigation accused confessed that they are active in stealing vehicles and have stolen vehicles from Kolar, Hanumanganj, Jehangirabad, Piplani areas of Bhopal and apart from Bhopal vehicles were also stolen from Betul, Ujjain, Vidisha, Indore, Raisen, Katni.
The accused parked the stolen vehicle at parking spaces at bus stand and railway stations. From Danish one bike stolen from Piplani area and one scooter each from Hanumanganj and Jehangirabad area were recovered.
Based on the information provided by Danish three others arrested. During the investigation police found that the stolen vehicles would be stationed at the parking spaces and sold from these places after deal was struck with the buyers.Danish and Bablu hold crime record while crime record of Sunil and Saurabh is under investigation. Danish has been booked for 32 cases while Bablu has been booked for 3 vehicle lifting cases..
