The State reported 443 new Covid-19 positive cases in 19 districts and the State pool on Sunday, with which the total tally increased to 10,35,077.
Among the newly-infected were 75 children in the age group of 0 to18 years. In the last 24 hours, 55,115 samples were tested and the test positivity rate (TPR) was 0.80 per cent. The active cases stood at 4,997. Notably, the State had registered a decreased number of 358 positive cases on Saturday.Out of the 443 new cases, 258 were detected from quarantine and 185 local contacts. Khordha district recorded the day’s highest 243 cases followed by Cuttack with 27, Mayurbhanj 20, Baleswar 14, Puri 13, Jajpur and Sundargarh 11 each and Kendrapada 10. The districts which recorded below-10 cases were Jagatsinghpur seven, Sambalpur six, Bhadrak five, Koraput four, Nayagarh four, Balangir three, Bargarh and Rayagada two each and Angul, Ganjam and Kalahandi one each.
Besides, 58 cases were detected from the State Pool. Three more patients succumbed to the disease, taking the total death toll to 8,285. Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Sundargarh districts recorded one death each. On Saturday, the State had also recorded three causalities. So far, 10,21,742 patients have recovered in the State.
