The State witnessed a slight dip in Covid19 cases with 444 persons being infected in 23 districts and the State pool on Monday, with which the total tally rose to 10,24,764. Among those infected were 59 children in the age group of 0 to 18 years.Notably, the State had detected 585 cases on Sunday. Of the new cases, 258 were from quarantine and 186 local contacts. Khordha district reported the day’s highest 170 cases followed by Cuttack with 73, Mayurbhanj 37, Jajpur 22, Baleswar 16 and Jagatsinghpur 13.
Among the districts reporting below-10 cases were Rayagada, Angul and Nayagarh eight each, Puri and Sambalpur seven each, Ganjam six, Kendrapada and Sundargarh five each, Bhadrak four, Balangir, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda and Keonjhar three each, Subarnapur two and Bargarh, Deogarh and Nuapada one each.
Besides, 37 cases were reported from the State pool The active cases stood at 5,702.Five more persons succumbed to the disease in the State, mounting the total death toll to 8,180.
Three causalities were reported from Sundargarh district and two from Nabarangpur. However, 653 persons recovered on the day, increasing the total recoveries to 10,10,829.
