A 45 years old man Shrawan Baitha was found hanging from a tree near the road at Rani Taal under the Chainpur police station.
Uday Kumar Gupta, officer in charge of the Chainpur police station said there was no suicide note on his body.
Police recovered one switched off cell phone in his pocket and some papers of his identity. There was no cash with him. About hanging he said it looked original and no foul play like tongue out, semen discharged and feet above the ground.
Gupta said the man was away from his house over the last six days and he was not with his family even on the Diwali day or night.
A case under unnatural death has been registered, said police and body sent for the post mortem in the Medinirai medical college hospital in Daltonganj.
