The State on Wednesday registered 457 new Covid-19 cases in 26 districts and from the State pool, with which the total tally increased to 10,17,718. Among the infected were 73 children in the age group of 0 to 18 years. In the last 24 hours, 52,130 samples were tested and the test positivity rate (TPR) was 0.87 per cent. Khordha district registered the day’s highest 207 cases followed by Cuttack with 44, Baleswar 28,Mayurbhanj 19, Jajpur 18 and SundargarhBhadrak and Jagatsinghpur 10 each. The districts which recorded below-10 cases were Ganjam eight, Rayagada and Puri seven each, Angul five, Bargarh, Nabarangpur and Koraput, Deogarh and Sambalpur, Gajapati, Kendrapada and Keonjhar three each, Jharsuguda two each and Balangir, Dhenkanal and Kalahandi one each.Besides, 47 cases were reported from the State pool.
Six more person succumbed to the disease in the State, surging the total death toll to 8,114.Three casualties were reported in Khordha district, two in Cuttack and one in Jajpur. However, 561 persons recovered on day, increasing total recoveries to 10,04,164.
