5-year-old raped in Muzaffarnagar

A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a labourer in Muzaffarnagar district, police said on Wednesday.
The girl, daughter of a brick kiln labourer, was rushed to a hospital in an injured condition on Tuesday, they said.
According to a complaint filed by her family, the accused raped the minor at a place near the brick kiln.
A case has been registered against the accused and he has been arrested, the police said.
In a separate incident, the body of an unidentified man was found floating in the Ganga canal near Jolly village on Tuesday evening.
The local police fished out the body and sent it for post-mortem.
A case was registered and efforts were on to ascertain the identity of the victim.
Meanwhile, in a shocking incident in Maharajganj, a six-month pregnant woman was raped at knifepoint.
The incident took place in Paniyara village of the district. Police have initiated a probe into the incident after a complaint from the victim.
According to the victim, she was sleeping at her home on Monday night when a man barged into her house by scaling a wall and put a knife on her throat. He then threatened to kill her if she raised an alarm and raped her, the victim told the police.
The accused is said to be a neighbour of the victim.
The victim said she was 6-month pregnant. The woman screamed in pain when she was raped by the accused. Hearing her cries, her mother-in-law came to the room and nabbed the accused. Local residents also gathered at the house after hearing the commotion and called the police.
In the meantime, the accused fled from the clutches of the woman after pushing her hard.
"We have received a complaint and are probing the matter. Strict action will be taken against the accused," saidSO, Pinayara, Dilip Singh.
Meanwhile, in another incident in Meerut district, a 22-year-old pregnant woman was allegedly beaten to death by her in-laws for not bringing dowry.
The incident took place in Nanglasahu village under Bhawanipur police station.
The accused in-laws later fled the spot.
The village head informed the police about the murder.
Later, the victim's family reached the village and conducted a search in the house of some villagers.
The girl, a resident of Lisari Gate in Meerut, was married to one Rashid around 10 months ago. The girl's father said her in-laws used to harass her and were demanding Rs 5 lakh as dowry and upset at not getting the money, they beat her to death.
