54 new cases, 50 recoveries in State

The State health department reported 54 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 50 recoveries from the disease in Uttarakhand on Monday. Death of no patient was reported by the department from the disease on the day.

The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the State is now at 3,41,778 out of which a total of 3,27,766 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the State, 7,359 people have lost their lives to Covid-19 till date.

The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.90 and the sample positivity rate on Sunday was at 0.21 per cent in the State. The authorities collected 28,123 samples in different parts of the State on Monday.

The State health department reported ten new patients of Covid-19 from Nainital, eight each from Dehradun and Haridwar, six each from Almora, Udham Singh Nagar and Rudraprayag, three each from Bageshwar and Pithoragarh, two from Chamoli and one each from Tehri and Uttarkashi on Monday. No new case was reported from Champawat and Pauri districts on the day.

The State now has 638 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 255 patients while Haridwar is in the second position with 64 active cases. Pithoragarh has 62, Nainital 57, Udham Singh Nagar 53, Chamoli 35, Champawat 27, Rudraprayag 24, Uttarkashi 19, Tehri 13, Bageshwar and Pauri 11 each and Almora 10 active cases of the disease.

The State reported no new case of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) and death of one patient from the disease on Monday. A total of 561 patients of Black Fungus have been reported till date in the state and out of them 124 have died.

In the ongoing vaccination drive 31,930 people were vaccinated in 574 sessions held on Monday in different parts of the State.
