Forest personnel of Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary, while patrolling sea on Friday, arrested nine fishermen for catching fish illegally. They were using a trawler named, "Manmay” after trespassing into 'No Fishing Zone' in Gahirmatha. The forest personnel seized fishing trawler, 36 quintals of fish catch, two GPSs, three VHF sets, one fish finder and six fishing nets from arrestees. Ranger Debashis Bhoi said while seven arrested fishermen hail from Kendrapada district, rest two are Baleswar residents. The arrestees were booked under Sections 27,29 and 31 of Wildlife Protection Act,1972 and punishable under Section 51 of the Act.
