AAP demands MCD to release pending salaries of health workers, protests

Sunday, 28 November 2021 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a sit-in at the municipal corporation’s headquarters, demanding immediate release of “pending” salaries of doctors and paramedical staff which have reportedly not been paid for the last several months.

Party in-charge Durgesh Pathak said that the BJP-ruled MCD has not paid salaries to doctors and paramedical staff for the past several months due to which everyone has gone on strike and the general public has been deprived of health services.

Under the leadership of Pathak, LOPs of all three MCDs, all the councilors, and nominated councilors raised slogans at the Civic Center protesting against the non-payment of salaries to doctors and paramedical staff.

Leader of Opposition (LoP) in north Corporation Vikas Goel said that despite having full information, the mayor left the office ahead of time without receiving a memorandum. “We demand that MCD release the salary of the entire staff as soon as possible. The BJP has been ruling in MCD for the last 15 years and now they are exposed in the entire field. The corruption and the mismanagement that the BJP has done in the last 15 years are now coming out in the open and people are suffering,” he said.

South MCD’s LoP Prem Chauhan said that earlier due to the negligence of BJP, dengue cases reported rapidly in Delhi and now they are not paying salaries to the doctors who are treating those patients.”
