AAP launches selfie with temple campaign to make Uttarakhand Hindu spiritual capital

Thursday, 16 September 2021 | PNS | Dehradun

Bringing its Hindu card to play ahead of the coming Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has started a selfie with temple campaign in Uttarakhand. During his last visit to the state, the national convener of AAP and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had stated that Uttarakhand will be made a spiritual capital for Hindus living all around the world if the party comes to power next year. Taking this statement a step ahead, the Chief Ministerial candidate of the party Ajay Kothiyal launched a website last week and said that through this, people can make recommendations to make the state a spiritual capital besides showing their support for the party too.

Claiming that about 24,000 people have shown their support through this website and thousands have suggested several ideas, party leader Naveen Pirshali said that selfie with temple campaign is one such recommendation. While addressing media persons in a Press conference on Wednesday, Pirshali said, "We appeal to the people to click selfies with temples or similar sites in their locality or any nearby areas and share with us through social media platforms.

Through this campaign, more people will get to know about the importance of such temples and places which are quite important traditionally but still unknown to many due to lack of knowledge." He said that this campaign will prove to be a milestone in the direction of making Uttarakhand the spiritual capital of Hindus.
