Palamu Anti Corruption Bureau on Wednesday trapped and arrested a Cashier of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) here for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 8,000 from a contractor, officials said.
According to ACB Deputy Superintendent Palamu Ashok Kumar, “Anti Corruption Bureau received a complaint alleging therein that Trilochan Das, 55 presently posted as Cashier in PHED, Garhwa demanded a bribe of Rs. 8000/- for agreement of a solar water tower in Medhna Kala village under Garhwa police station.”
They said that on receipt of the complaint Idris Ansari, a case FIR No.11 of 2021, under section 7 (a) Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 was registered in Police Station ACB Palamu and investigation was taken up.
After lodging the complaint , a team investigated the same — it turned out to be a bribe case.
Accordingly, a trap was set on the premises of PHED on Wednesday, and Trilochan was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000.
