Following the consistent rise in coronavirus positive cases, over 40 locations across Bokaro district were sealed on Tuesday. Exercising the powers conferred under subsection 34 (B & C) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, Deputy Commissioner Bokaro Rajesh Kumar Singh declared those areas as Containment Zone.
Around 91 new positive cases have been reported in the district, while 38 were recovered and discharged from the hospital. The total count of active cases reached 467, informed Rajesh Kumar Singh Deputy Commissioner Bokaro.
The areas sealed includes township area of Bokaro City, Sector-4 / B, Sector-4 /B, Sector 4 / F, Sector 6, Sector- 9/ B, Sector- 3 / B, Sector- 5 / B, Sector-2 / C, Sector-1 / C, City Center Sector 4, Chira Chas, Gujarat Colony, Co-operative Colony, Rajender Nagar, Vastu Vihar Phase 2, Shiv Colony, under Chas Municipal Corporation (CMC), Bari- Cooperative Colony, Swang under Gomia block, Paterwar and Kurpania. After declaring it as Containment Zone, a complete lockout has been done, said the DC. Sanitization of the surrounding areas of the infected person’s home is also being done. The department is working according to the history of contact with the person. Samples of other people will also be examined, if needed, said the DC.
The positive tested persons have been shifted to COVID-19 ward at Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) and treatment has been started. “There is no need to be afraid,” said DC
He appealed to the masses to cooperate with the government and district administration in defeating the global epidemic by following the mask and social distancing.
In the light of the decision by the state government to reserve 50 per cent beds in all private hospitals.
