A day after Haryana Home and Urban Local Bodies Minister Anil Vij conducted a surprise inspection at the office of Municipal Corporation, Gurugram, a case has been registered against several employees while two others have been suspended.
During the surprise inspection on Thursday, Vij had given instructions to suspend two assistant engineers as well as to relieve one engineer and to file a case against some officers and employees. The department took prompt action on the orders given by Vij and all the orders given by him have been implemented on Friday, said an official spokesman.
He said a case has been registered against the officials of the Municipal Corporation, including one junior engineer, two executive engineers, one assistant engineer among seven people. There were continuous complaints with regard to a big fraud and a case has been registered in this regard. On the complaint received, Vij had ordered to register an FIR and subsequently, a case has been registered under Sections 120-B, 409, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 511 of the IPC at Gurugram’s Sadar Police Station against the erring employees, the spokesman said.
The persons against whom the FIR has been registered include Junior Engineer Vinod Kumar, Assistant Engineer Vicky Kumar, Executive Engineers Pankaj Saini and Gopal Kalawat, besides Dilawar Singh, Rajkumar and Pawan Balhara, the spokesman said.
Apart from this, orders have been issued to relieve Dharamveer Singh, executive engineer, who was re-employed in Urban Local Bodies Department. Urban Local Bodies Department has issued orders to suspend Assistant Engineers Rakesh Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav working in Municipal Corporation with immediate effect and after suspension, their headquarters has been fixed in Panchkula. Vij had received complaints regarding irregularities in Municipal Corporation, Gurugram and conducted a surprise inspection to review the functioning of the civic body.
