Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation Department, Badal reviewed the work being done by the District Administration and Health Department towards controlling the spread of Covid-19 in the district and got the updated status here on Monday.

In the order of review, Deputy Commissioner Rajeshwari B presented the data of sample collection, number of corona infected patients etc, which has been done in the district so far. The DC informed the Minister about the arrangements and arrangements being made in connection with Covid-19 in the district.

Badal called the role of vaccination important in controlling the ever increasing outbreak of Coronavirus and its spread in the coming days.  He said that in the coming days, people over the age of 18 will be vaccinated.  He instructed the DC to prepare an action plan to get the students vaccinated as a priority.

He said along with the second wave of coronavirus, we also need to make our preparations for third wave. This requires promoting vaccination on large scale. Vaccination is highly effective in preventing spread of corona infection. He directed to ensure maximum immunisation of people in district.

He also appealed to the public to get vaccinated boldly to prevent corona virus. In order to prevent the spread of corona virus, he instructed the Deputy Commissioner to keep the demand for essential medicines, medical resources, oxygen, ventilators, normal and oxygen-rich beds, etc. when needed.

The Minister gave several important instructions related to increasing awareness among the people.  He said that the awareness will prove to be worthwhile in driving away the corona epidemic.  Therefore, the officers should make every citizen of the district aware of prevention of infection of Covid-19, including the people living in all the villages of the district and the representatives of youth and social organizations living in cities and youth clubs.
