All preparations are in place for the Municipal Corporation Birgaon election and by-election for Ward 14 of Municipal Council Gobra-Navapara in Raipur district, said Raipur District Election Officer and Collector Saurabh Kumar on Thursday.
The CrPC Section 144 has been made effective in Birgaon and the ward areas.
The use of loudspeakers has been banned from 10.00 pm to 6.00 am, the Collector told the media. Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal attended the presser.
He said all the licensed arms will have to be deposited with the nodal officer.
The notification for polls will be issued on November 27. The last date for filing nomination is December 3. Candidates can withdraw names on December 6 till 3.00 pm. The polling will be held on December 20. The result will come on December 23.
He said 81,532 electors will be eligible to vote in 40 wards of Birgaon. The candidate’s election expense limit for candidates is Rs 3 lakhs in Birgaon and Rs 1 lakh in Gobra-Navapara.
