Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday announced a beautification project for the Samaleswari Temple here.
As directed by Patnaik, a high-level team comprising Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) Chairman Asit Tripathy and 5T Secretary VK Pandian visited the shrine on the day and held a discussion regarding the project. The Samaleswari Temple is all set to get a major facelift as the project includes development of a heritage corridor, a Bhoga Mandap, accommodation facilities for devotees and tourists and a parking space.
A special rehabilitation package would be announced for the servitors of the temple and those who would be evicted for land acquisition during the project work. A target of two years has been set for completion of the project, which would be carried out under the 5T initiative of the State Government. Notably, earlier, similar projects had been announced by the Chief Minister for the Jagannath Temple in Puri, the Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar and the Tara Tarini Temple in Ganjam.
