A delegation of the Chhattisgarh State Administrative Service Association on Tuesday termed the arrest of retired Additional Collector Edmund Lakra as "demoralizing" for revenue officials.
The delegation made this known to In-charge Chief Secretary Subrat Sahoo when it called on him at the Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) office based at Raipur.
The delegation handed over a copy of the decision of its General Body, a copy of the revenue case against Lakra and the directive of the Director General of Police issued for police action.
It said that such an was action even when there are options and provisions for appeal against any revenue order. Lakra was accused of conniving with the sale of tribal land to a non-tribal.
The delegation said this has affected the morale of revenue officials and that such action should be stopped. Security should also be provided to revenue officials.
The delegation included Association General Secretary Sandeep Agrawal, Treasurer Harbansh Mirri, Joint Secretary Jageshwar Kaushal as well as Poonam Soni.
