In depth deliberations on preparing a road map of development were held during the ‘ Atmanirbhar Uttarakhand @25’ summit at Chief Minister’s residence here on Saturday. In the discussions CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, vice chairman of Niti Aayog Rajiv Kumar, principal scientific advisor of union government K Vijayraghawan, Padma Bhushan recipient Anil Prakash Joshi and the additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan were involved.
CM Dhami said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a vision of 2025 for Uttarakhand and the state government is doing everything to make it a success. He said that Uttarakhand is bestowed with natural resources and special emphasis is being made for proper utilisation of resources. CM said that since Uttarakhand is a Himalayan state, the geographical conditions here are different and the state is very sensitive for natural disasters. He said that the union government is providing every possible support to the state government. Dhami said that the journey of development of the state is a collective one and all the suggestions received would be pondered upon.
The principal scientific advisor of union government K Vijayraghavan said that the state should have a scientific development plan. He said that Uttarakhand has a major asset in the form of Himalayas which affects the country and the world.
Anil Joshi said that the Himalayan states should do constant brainstorming. He said that the state should have a fresh analysis of its strengths and weaknesses.
ACS, Anand Bardhan said that the state has got many achievements in infrastructure despite having geographical challenges. He said that the strengths of the state are Himalayas, Ganga, climate and peaceful society while there are challenges of employment, connectivity, migration and issues related with disaster and borderareas.
Badrinath MLA Mahendra Bhatt, Neelam Patel of Niti Aayog, secretary planning BVRC Puroshottam, Vice Chancellors (VC) of different universities and others were present on the occasion.
