AYUSH docs, staff resume fight against Covid surge

As per the instructions of the Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Ramkishore Kawre, the Department of AYUSH has become active again to increase participation in the Covid-19 disaster period. Duties of doctors and paramedical staff etc. of AYUSH department have been resumed. In the last one month, about 100 doctors and staff of the department in Bhopal have been deployed by the Collector in the Rapid Response Team; they are actively discharging their duties.

On Wednesday, under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary cum Commissioner Caralyn Khongwar Deshmukh, the measures being taken by the AYUSH department in the current crisis of Covid-19 were reviewed. Principal and divisional AYUSH officers of all AYUSH colleges of the state joined online during the review. During this time information was obtained about the works done at present in their subordinate institutions and districts.

In the meeting it was directed to distribute medicines under the guidelines issued by the Ministry of AYUSH regarding Covid-19. The AYUSH department is distributing Ayurveda's Giloy, Amla, Turmeric, Tulsi, Ashwagandha, Homeopathy’s Arsenic Alb-30 and Unani’s Joshanda, Trial Najla, Asgandh medicines through colleges, clinics, AYUSH wing and dispensaries. Instructions have been given to monitor it continuously.

It was told that all the information including the mobile numbers of every citizen must be compulsorily registered. Reports of medicines dispensed daily should be sent to the Directorate.

For Covid positive patients at Covid care centres and in home isolation, Arogya Kasayam-20 should be distributed according to the instructions of the Collector, CMHO.

Physicians, students and around 500 employees of the paramedical staff of AYUSH department are working in various districts of the state under the direction of CMHO in screening and Covid care centers.Principal Secretary Caralyn Khongwar Deshmukh on Wednesday inspected the preparations for the proposed Covid Care Centre at Government Unani Medical College, AYUSH campus, Bhopal. Principal of Unani College Dr Mehmuda Begum and Hospital Superintendent Dr. Salim Ahmed were present during the visit of the Principal Secretary.

It was informed that currently Covid-19 Vaccination Centre is functioning in Unani Hospital. Instructions have been given by the district administration to prepare 40 oxygen Covid beds.
