Additional Director General, State Cyber, Yogesh Chaudhary said that phishing e-mails are sent by cyber fraudsters to various Government and non-Government mail ids in which it is written that mail id has been suspended and asked to change the password through the medium and when password is changed by clicking on the link provided mail gets hacked.
As soon as new password is changed using link, email id and password are obtained by criminals, which is be misused by the criminals for all your personal and personal information.
One can read mail containing official correspondence and misuse it for other things as well. In this way, many of your official documents, correspondence, confidential information reaches the criminals. Apart from this, if email id is linked in your bank account, then they can also cause you financial loss.
He said that do not download any software believing any unknown email, it may be virus. If any such phishing mail, delete it immediately. Emails received in this way appear to have been sent to us from our servers because criminals prepare them that way. While checking such email properly, it will be found that it is a fake email and mails have been made showing the email of server.
Contact email service provider and request to temporarily block email with documents like ID proof, screenshots of previous mails, inbox etc. to prevent its misuse by hackers. Send email and message to all contacts from other alternate email account and request not to respond to emails coming from the hacked email.
