Bilaspur, Jashpur extend lockdown

After reviewing the Covid-19 positivity rate in Bilaspur and Jashpur, the lockdown was on Friday extended in both Chhattisgarh districts till May 24 and May 23 respectively. The earlier lockdown was till May 15.

Bilaspur and Jashpur are among the districts which have been recording higher positive cases.

Bilaspur Collector Dr Saransh Mittar issued an order extending the lockdown till May 24 midnight.

Only hospitals, medical shops, clinics and veterinary hospitals will remain open during the lockdown. The Public Distribution Shops will be permitted but Covid appropriate behavior will be a must. Shops will be sanitized regularly. The borders of the district will be sealed.

The local street shops will remain open till 4.00 pm and only home deliveries will be allowed from hotels and restaurants.

Electricians are permitted for repair and maintenance work. Auto services will be available at railway stations and the airport and for medical purposes.

Jashpur Collector Mahadev Kaware extended the lockdown till May 23 midnight. The ration shops have been permitted to operate while sale of fruits, vegetables, eggs, chicken, and mutton will be made only through home deliveries.
