Accusing the Deoghar district administration of working as JMM workers in Madhupur, the Opposition BJP has demanded the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure fair polls in the constituency. The BJP with this demand submitted a memorandum to Chief Electoral Officer Ranchi. The delegation was headed by BJP State secretary, Subodh Singh ‘Guddu’.
The BJP in its memorandum has stated that Deoghar district administration is working as JMM workers. The BJP delegation through its memorandum highlighted that recently the Deoghar DC distributed pamphlets with information about the places he will visit. Singh said, “The Deoghar DC through his visit will highlight the various welfare schemes of the state government which is indirectly campaigning in support of JMM candidate.”
The BJP state secretary said that the act of Deoghar district administration is against the service code of conduct of a Civil Servant and also against the model code of conduct. The BJP also alleged that apart from this today (April 14), Jamtara MLA Infran Ansari performed puja at Baba Baidhyanath Dham temple and also uttered communal remarks.
The BJP delegation stated that Ansari performed puja at Baba Baidhyanath Dham temple on the intervention of Deoghar district administration which is against the rules and regulations of Baba Baidhyanath dham temple authority. It may be noted that only Hindus are allowed to perform puja at Baba Baidhyanath Dham.
Few days back the BJP had made a similar complaint against the Deoghar district administration of removing BJP flags and banners from houses. The BJP delegation had stated that while the JMM flags and banners were not removed by district administration, flags of BJP were removed by district administration.
In Madhupur bypoll there is a direct fight between JMM candidate and minority affairs minister Hafizul Hassan and BJP candidate Ganga Naryan Singh who switched sides from AJSU last month. The campaigning at Madhupur has reacted peak with Chief Minister Hemant Soren camping in Madhupur for days. The BJP too has put its senior leaders including BJP legislative party leader and senior leader Babulal Marandi, BJP state president Deepak Prakash and others. Thursday is the last day of campaigning, while the election will be held on April 17. The results will be declared on May 2.
