BJP chief takes a jibe at Akhilesh

Sunday, 16 May 2021 | PNS | Lucknow

UP BJP president  Swatantra Dev Singh on Saturday took a jibe at Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on the issue of Covid vaccine. Singh slammed the former CM for his diatribe against the Covid vaccine.
Akhilesh Yadav had said in January earlier this year that he would not take the “BJP’s vaccine” and also that everyone would be vaccinated for free when his party came to power. Following criticism, he had subsequently tweeted that he had full confidence in the ability of India’s scientists, but would not take the BJP’s “political vaccine.”
Meanwhile, the BJP has stepped up preparations for winning the maximum number of seats of block pramukh and district panchayat chairman. The BJP had suffered a setback in several districts politically crucial for its political agenda. The particular districts where the BJP candidates lost the elections of member district panchayat are Ayodhya, Varanasi and Mathura.
The BJP has started marshalling support in districts across the state. The ruling party is vigorously pursuing its rebel candidates who were elected as district panchayat members. The BJP on Saturday readmitted Seema Upadhyaya in Hathras district. She is the wife of the former minister and presently BSP MLA from Hathras, Ramveer Upadhyaya. She had defeated official BJP candidate Ritu Upadhyaya in the panchayat elections. BJP has also readmitted the rebels who were earlier expelled from the party.
Chirag Upadhaya, son of Ramveer Upadhaya, along with 11 other party leaders, was readmitted to the party on Saturday. The BJP is desperately putting its house in order to take on the Samajwadi Party.
