BJP demands dismissal of JPSC chief, fair probe in result

Monday, 29 November 2021 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand BJP on Sunday demanded the Hemant Soren Government to dismiss the chairperson of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) alleging the Government is patronising corruption. Jharkhand BJP president Deepak Prakash who held a press conference on the issue of the JPSC examination said that it was a matter of shame that JPSC allowed rampant malpractices in conducting the seventh JPSC examination.

Notably, the result of the preliminary examination conducted by JPSC landed in controversy as candidates alleged results reflect wheeling and dealing on a large scale.

Prakash demanded scrapping of the result and said that the investigation of this case should be done by the CBI or by a sitting judge of the High Court. He was joined by party's Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal who accused the Government of browbeating agitating youths by implicating them, in false cases.

"Every day the Hemant Soren Government is creating new records of corruption. The JPSC merit scam is one such example of corruption by this Government. This Government is anti-youth which is spoiling the life and career of meritorious youths. Government jobs have been sold in connivance with the Government. The entire examination process is under question and anomalies were done at every stage of examination," said Prakash.

BJP alleged that rule 30 of examination bylaws of the JPSC clearly states that to maintain transparency in the examination process JPSC will release OMR answer sheets.

"But here the JPSC chairperson is saying that such a provision of the bylaw is useless. His answer reflects there was wide-level corruption in the JPSC.

A large number of students passed the PT examination having their serial-wise roll number. This is not a coincidence, this is called corruption which the JPSC is hiding. The JPSC chairperson has no explanation now, saying that PT results are provisional. Students are wondering how a result can be provisional," Prakash said.

He claimed that in the Backward category (II) the cut-off marks were 252 but even such students passe d who secured 230 marks.  He ridiculed that the JPSC chairperson has been asked to investigate the matter and stated that it was just like a cat guarding milk.

"What kind of probe JPSC is talking about when it is doing the process to conduct the Mains examination. The Hemant Soren government is suppressing the voice of youths. On the one hand, on November 23 students were invited for a talk to resolve the matter and on the other on the same day, the Government let loose the police to beat students," he said.
